We are currently hiring a Sydney-based Strategy Manager to join an exciting Australian tech business.  

This role is expected to be well-equipped to strategise complex projects and help drive business priorities and transformation goals. The person needs to have the ability to think critically and challenge the status quo, always aiming for continuous improvement.

You will be responsible for developing high quality strategic plans across our businesses. You will aim to identify areas of growth and opportunities that need help in order to think bigger and better. Some of your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Excel at stakeholder management, change management, and business case development.  
  • Ensure that all aspects of the project are executed flawlessly. 
  • Apply strategic and innovative thinking that can provide key insights and solutions to difficult business challenges. 
  • Develop their strategy and quarterly plans / priorities.  
  • Engage and influence teams across the company to drive great customer and business outcomes. 
  • Support the development of the annual strategy, including running diagnostics, organising and facilitating collaborative sessions with key stakeholders. 
  • Bring new, innovative ideas to the table that will help us stay ahead of the competition.  
  • Need to communicate the company strategy, priorities, and progress effectively to Executive stakeholders and the company’s board. 

We are looking for a candidate who is ambitious, thrives in a fast paced and challenging environment, and is able to work independently.  

The person should also have a good understanding of the big picture, with experience in fields such as Management Consulting, Corporate Strategy or Investment Banking. Ideally, the person will also have experience in retail, digital platforms and/or loyalty and fintech. 

  • 3 years experience as a top tier strategy consultant from an MBB or Oliver Wyman, Kearney, Strategy& etc.  
  • Strong problem-solving skills with structured thinking and approach. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to deliver exceptional Executive-level presentations with a clear and concise story. 
  • Outstanding attention to detail, ease with numbers and data and ability to draw the key “so what” insights. 
  • Strong personal skills and ability to influence, establish and maintain long-term relationships across the organisation. 
  • Ability to look at the big picture while diving into day-to-day execution details. 
  • A Bachelor Degree in Business or Finance – Master Degree or MBA would be advantageous.

    We are looking for a Sydney-based Senior Strategy Manager to join this exciting and fast paced Australian owned Tech business.  

    You will need to own and drive complex strategy projects in line with business priorities and transformation horizons. In order to achieve great customer and business outcomes, you will need to engage and influence teams across the company. 

    The role will report to the Head of and our client is looking for a talented individual to play a key role in bridging strategy and execution across our rapidly evolving company and its digital ecosystem. In this newly created position, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on the business. 

    Key responsibilities include: 

    • Think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions to our business challenges.  
    • Provide rapid and practical ideas in key decision forums.  
    • Be a thought partner to your stakeholders and develop their strategy and quarterly plans.  
    • Support the development of our annual strategy, including running diagnostics, organising and facilitating collaborative sessions.

    We’re looking for an individual who is adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment. With their strategic mindset and critical thinking skills, he or she will constantly challenge the status quo and push for continuous improvement. 

    Key experience: 

    • You will have a background in top tier Management Consulting, Corporate Strategy, or Investment Banking. This experience should ideally be coupled with retail, digital platform and/or fintech experience.  
    • Minimum of 5 years strategy consulting experience.  
    • Strong problem solving skills with structured thinking and approach  
    • Customer first mindset, and passionate about retail, growth and innovation  
    • Excellent communication with ability to deliver exceptional Executive-level presentations with a clear and concise story  
    • Ability to look at the big picture while diving into day-to-day execution details  
    • High level of maturity and confidence and strong interpersonal skills to build long-term relationships across the organisation and diverse stakeholders

      •  Strong written and presentation skills and the ability to convert data into insight and prepare compelling, persuasive reports and presentations 
      • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively influence a diverse range of stakeholders including senior leaders, technical and functional specialists, operational and line managers 
      • Experience in successfully partnering across functions in the development and implementation of strategies to deliver commercial outcomes within complex, matrix organisations

        As Team Lead, Group Strategy, you will be responsible for leading a diverse range of strategic projects across the bank.         Job Qualifications

        • A proven consulting toolkit with superior analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to incorporate innovative approaches in solving complex problems  
        • Strategic thinker with ability to look beyond individual issues to identify broader themes with wider-reaching impact  
        • Ability to structure, lead, and manage complex cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels  
        • Ability to independently lead and manage projects with multiple workstreams, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of functional business problems  
        • Experience in facilitating discussions at senior executive level, with highly developed verbal and written skills and visual communications  
        • Highly developed decision making, negotiation, planning and organisational skills  
        • Proven leadership capabilities in managing and developing a team of high-performing strategy practitioners  
        • Ambition, and are self-driven and highly motivated to thrive in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) environment

          Our client is preferably looking for someone based in Sydney, but is open to considering Melbourne and Brisbane too!  

          Key Responsibilities: 

          • Develop key data metrics and a dashboard to provide real-time, meaningful insights into our people-related data. This will allow us to make better decisions based on accurate information 
          • Provide regular reports that give a clear understanding of the flow of information on people metrics to the ELT, Board Subcommittee and Board. 
          • Collect data from a variety of sources in order to get a holistic view of employee engagement.  
          • Identify trends and patterns (e.g. recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, compliance with employment laws and regulations) and provide insights to leaders through reports/presentations. With this valuable information, leaders can make informed decisions about actions that need to be taken. 
          • Involve identifying and recommending reasonable short-term and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics.  
          • Recommend policies and activities that will improve our organisational culture – including suggestions to attract and hire qualified candidates, motivate and retain employees, address staffing issues, and maintain legal compliance. 
          • Improve the quality and consistency of our people data reporting. This includes both standard reports within our HRIS system, as well as ad hoc reports that are generated from other associated systems. 
          • Responsible for undertaking scheduled and ad hoc reporting, using Workday datasets and data from other sources such as internal reports, compliance and government reporting obligations.  
          • Facilitate the implementation of projects and related initiatives. 
          • Work hard to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.  
          • Undertake scheduled and ad hoc reporting to the business so that you always have the latest information at your fingertips. 

          Background & Experience 

          • 3+ years working in management consulting with a top tier MBB firm or the likes of Kearney, Oliver Wyman etc.  
          • Prior experience in people, org is advantageous.  
          • 5+ years’ experience in a corporate environment  
          • Identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives  
          • Good at diagnosing customer needs and finding a way to satisfy them  
          • Well-developed presentation skills and can handle multiple projects simultaneously  
          • Ability to adapt and manage change  
          • Ability to influence and advise major stakeholders
