The Sydney or Melbourne-based GM Commercial Strategy & Performance enables high-quality commercial decision-making to optimise revenue and gross margin outcomes. In this role you’ll be required to:

  • Co-create and recommend commercial strategies to accelerate growth and sustain strong revenue in all markets (currently Australia and New Zealand).
  • Perform sophisticated financial modelling to examine price elasticity and inform pricing decisions as well as models to inform proposed commercial arrangements with new partners.
  • Own and lead regular market competitiveness analysis
  • Perform impact analysis and provide insights and make recommendations to optimise outcomes.
  • Perform modelling and analysis to support proposed marketing campaign activity.
  • Review sales pipeline and retention performance and make recommendations to support optimisation.
  • Monitor and report on the underlying portfolio performance, by product type, brand, channel, features, geographic and demographic distributions etc.
  • Manage effective and productive relationships with key internal stakeholders such as Product & Revenue teams as well as external stakeholders such as distribution partners.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong problem-solving capability gained from 5-10 years’ experience within a top tier strategy consulting firm or a mix of consulting and strategy/commercial experience within a corporate. (MBB preferred)
  • Very strong analytical rigour with proven financial modelling and analytical analysis experience/skills
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Highly collaborative approach to solve complex problems cross-functionally

    This is an exciting fast-paced team reporting to the Head of Partnerships as Sydney-based Strategic Business Development Manager and plays an integral part in driving growth objectives and outcomes through new partnerships. You will work closely with the Commercial team to identify, win, and maintain key partnerships that drive revenue and growth. 

    As Sydney-based Strategic Business Development Manager, your responsibilities include: 

    • Develop and drive the financial services partnerships new business strategy.  
    • Identify new partnership opportunities and drive returns for our company.  
    • Innovate to attract new partner prospects and develop a value story.

    Key Qualifications for this role:  

    • 5-10 years commercial experience strategy and partnerships in Financial Services 
    • Successful track record of multi-million-dollar revenue commercial negotiations and partnership management at a senior level.  
    • Building and maintaining an active pipeline of high-quality sales opportunities.  
    • Demonstrated practical data analytical experience used to inform business decision making.  
    • Strategic business development. 
    • Ability to consultatively sell with strong attention to detail.  
    • Exceptional presentation skills pitching to all levels within a business including C-Suite. 
    • Complex contract management and negotiation.

      About The Company

      Come and join the Western Sydney Airport team delivering Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport, the lynchpin of the extraordinary transformation currently underway to develop Sydney’s third city and Aerotropolis.

      One of the largest infrastructure projects underway in Australia, Western Sydney International will open to international, domestic and air cargo services in late 2026 and will eventually grow to be one of Australia’s biggest gateways to the world.

      About the Opportunity

      Reporting to the General Manager Strategy & EPMO, you will support in the development, monitoring and refinement of WSA’s business and corporate strategy, and communication of strategic matters.

      Your role will be responsible for:

      • Preparing the update of WSA’s Corporate Plan (and Strategic Business Plan) by initiating and developing the process and working with key stakeholders throughout to produce high quality documents ahead of time.
      • Gathering insights and assemble into priorities to help set the strategic agenda and shape Board Strategy Days and broader business planning cycles through stakeholder interviews, market analysis, preparation of workshops.
      • Independently conduct research activities to explore strategic issues and keep abreast of competitors, understand emerging trends in the broader environment (including market and industry changes) to identify threats and opportunities, and to use these insights to update strategic dashboards and other business registers.
      • Preparing high quality plans, briefings, presentations, Board papers and other materials ahead of time and as necessary to present strategic outcomes and recommendations by liaising with internal colleagues and external parties.
      • Initiating, developing and implementing frameworks, processes and workshops to support the refinement of WSA’s business strategy (including modelling and business case development) and alignment efforts across the business.
      • Preparing & refining modelling, demand forecasting and evaluation of scenarios as required.
      • Contribution to the enhancement of strategic dashboards.

      About You

      We’d like to hear from you if you have the following:

      • 3+ years management consulting experience from the likes of Monitor Deloitte, KPMG Strategy, Strategy& etc.
      • Strong problem solving skills and application of frameworks
      • Experience in a Group Strategy function

        We are excited to announce that one of our clients is embarking on a new chapter in its journey and as such is hiring a Brisbane-based Commercial Strategy Analyst.  

        Working with the Head of Strategy you will help to develop the broader commercial strategy and transformation roadmap and support the analysis of opportunities to quickly capture value in the business. 

        This position, Brisbane-based Commercial Strategy Analyst, will play a key role in supporting stakeholder management and decision making by working on selected deep dives into these opportunities. In addition, this position will work on special projects that are in collaboration with relevant Commercial functions and other teams within the company. 

        Key Responsibilities: 

        • Provide support to the Manager and Head of to develop growth strategies to help the company achieve their revenue ambitions. 
        • Lead and support the Manager and Head of Strategy in identifying and analysing opportunities across commercial functions. Actively support preparation for ELT/Board updates. 
        • Develop, manage and monitor relationships with internal stakeholders across Commercial Functions, as well as across the company.  
        • Collaborate closely with finance and revenue management teams to help ensure alignment of strategic objectives. 
        • Identify and scope commercial opportunities and lead the sizing of commercial benefits and investments. This will include supporting the workstream within special projects and selected deep dives for value acceleration capture.

        Background & Skills: 

        • Experience in top-tier strategy/management consulting (2+ years), or similar functions in industry (4+ years), with orientation towards commercial performance and outcomes

        • Experience interrogating and analysing large bodies of data to generate actionable insights  
        • Experience in preparing CEO/Board level presentation  
        • Experience operating with ambiguity 
        • Ability to learn a topic quickly and understand commercial drivers  
        • Ability to synthesis insights into a management level narrative to drive decision making  
        • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral  
        • Excellent stakeholder management skills  
        • Knowledge of strategy toolkit  
        • Attention to detail with respect to interrogation of data quality and the generation of commercial insights

          • Project management experience  
          • Experience in management consulting, and any other industries within Australia or abroad. 
          • Familiarity with common strategy development frameworks and methodologies  
          • Ability to identify and develop ideas and thinking that can substantially add value to the business.
