Our client, a well-funded Fintech, is growing rapidly and is showing no signs of stopping. They have run a few capital raisings to date which has helped them launch an AI powered tech platform bringing transparency and simplicity to their customers. They are looking for a Head of Customer Operations that’s based in Sydney or Melbourne and includes (but is not limited to) leading a team of 20+ people with P&L responsibility.

The Sydney or Melbourne-based Head of Customer Operations will be part of the largest BU within the organisation with a focus on multiplying the customer experience ten-fold in the most cost-effective way. To be sure they hit their 2023 targets, they’re doubling the size of their team over the next 6-12 months. They need a professional with a generalist strategic background (top tier/MBB) who is ambitious, analytical and who can drive their critical metrics to help deliver optimal company performance. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Optimising and growing the Customer Operations team. 
  • Driver of and key contributor in answering strategic operating model questions with the Founders and Executive Leadership team. 
  • Leading team managers and their teams by creating and implementing initiatives that challenge them in a way that gets the most out of them and their people. 
  • Driving organisational change when new technology and processes roll out. 
  • Through rigorous analysis, generating critical insights that help optimise customer operations and processes.  

Key Qualifications:  

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a top-tier (MBB/ Kearney/LEK preferred) strategy consulting firm, with a bias to execution. 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar strategic role at a high growth startup would also be desirable. 
  • Has knowledge in customer experience and/or customer operations OR has a real interest to pursue this function and grow their capability in this space within ANZ and the United Kingdom. 
  • Has some team management skills and wants to lead a P&L with more than 20 people. 
  • Strong problem-solving ability balanced by a strong people orientation.

    As an Strategy Analyst, you will play an important role in the analysis, development and execution of strategic initiatives to support the company’s growth. You explore new business opportunities and develop strategies to achieve company growth goals both within and beyond the company’s existing core. 

    Key Responsibilities:  

    • Drive strategic initiatives and insights across strategy and M&A projects 
    • Deliver meaningful insights, analysis and recommendations.  
    • Prepare presentations, plans and reports that support growth opportunities. 
    • Help strategically assess businesses and find growth opportunities. 
    • Develop financial models, valuations and analytics to support business decisions.

    Background & Skills:

    • Superior skills in financial analysis and commercial modelling  
    • Independent skills to research and to access internal & external information  
    • Strong commercial acumen  
    • Strong ability using Excel and PowerPoint  
    • Solid understanding of financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow Statements) 
    • Sound understanding of financial concepts & analysis methods (e.g. DCF, WACC, ROIC)

      The Strategy Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Group Strategy to develop and execute the company’s strategy. You will work on a diverse range of projects across the company including growth and market entry, product development, marketing and distribution, process improvement, optimisation and M&A. 

      Key Responsibilities: 

      • Lead and support projects related to group strategy across all business units – including growth and market entry, product development, marketing and distribution, process improvement, optimisation and M&A.  
      • Set the direction for these projects, provide leadership, and develop a strong team. 
      • Support the group’s bi-annual strategic planning process.

          You will be playing a key role as a strategist, consultant, and implementer. You will support the CEO at both a strategic and day-to-day operating level. You will streamline, track and prioritise activities across the business, acting as the central point of contact. You will have a front role view! 

          As Chief of Staff, you will be responsible for the following:  

          • You will coordinate team activities and help manage day-to-day tasks. In addition, you’ll be responsible for identifying and addressing the needs of the CEO. You’ll also be expected to perform both strategic and administrative tasks to ensure the delivery of the CEO agenda.
