Head of Strategy in Sydney

Reporting to the Chief Strategy and Growth Officer who is an ex MBB top tier manager, The Head of Strategy in Sydney will help the company executives to achieve their vision by being both a thought partner and delivery partner. You will work closely with leaders across the firm to help achieve the company vision of a world that offers better access to healthcare opportunities.  

This business is in an exciting growth phase and the Head of Strategy will be at the heart of making this happen. You will have facetime at the executive table, be able to use your entrepreneurial flair to have a real and fast impact.  

Responsibilities include:  

  • Develop and execute the firm’s long-term strategy and assess potential growth opportunities. 
  • Work closely with leadership to ensure that they are maximising the growth potential, both organic and inorganic, whilst aligning with company’s strategic direction.  
  • Keep up to date with global trends, and make strategic recommendations to the executives 
  • Provide valuable insight for the development of the business. 
  • Responsible for annual planning and budgeting processes, as well as supporting strategic projects – such as new business and product creation or growth options.  
  • Use your management consulting frameworks and strategic expertise to advise the firm on its growth strategy and operational improvements.  

    Qualifications include:  

  • We are looking for someone with 5 years’ plus experience in a top strategy management consulting firm, with a strategy-based focus tool-kit.  
  • Proven experience at excelling in demanding environments and knowledgeable about strategic problem solving and frameworks. 
  • Highly experienced at driving strategic engagements to fruition. 
  • Advanced communication skills, with a focus on Executive level communications.  
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior management with the ability to create compelling analytical presentations, texts, and proposals. 
  • The successful candidate will be able to absorb and analyse a great deal of information, and then present compelling arguments in a clear, concise, and interesting way.  
  • In addition, this individual needs to be attentive to detail and have strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and be curious about new possibilities.  
  • Exceptional quantitative skills and financial understanding/ financial literacy and project management ability is a must.  
  • If you hold an MBA, that can be an even greater advantage.

    Our client is a leading retailer and is looking for a Senior Analyst in Sydney to join their team. The person should strive to deliver the best customer experience possible by leveraging data and generate meaningful insights for customers. This includes creating relevant offers for customers and shape the category and strategy and the company’s product offerings. 

    We are searching for an individual who is capable of overseeing the entire customer experience process for a large selection of categories. Your role includes developing and implementing procedures, as well as providing training to employees on how to use them. Your role will be essential in ensuring the delivery of quality work while creating a customer-centric atmosphere. 

    Key Qualifications include:  

    • Work collaboratively with Category Managers and other stakeholders in order to develop data-driven insights that can be used to shape strategies and create customer-focused results.  
    • Provide clear recommendations and guidance for category strategies to ensure these strategies are implemented. 
    • Execute successful strategies for category programs. 
    • Analyse customer behaviour, market trends, category performance, pricing, and supplier dynamics in order to identify opportunity zones.  
    • Use a combination of qualitative and quantitative consumer and category research to generate strategic insights which will be used in decision making.  
    • Use analytical tools such as category segmentation, clustering, range performance, and product optimisation to ensure that our decisions are data-driven and well-informed. 
    • Provide support to a variety of teams across the company.  
    • Help in providing training, development, and upskilling the team to ensure desired results. 

    Key Qualifications:  

    • 2-3 years+ experience in strategy, preferably from a consulting firm 
    • Depth of experience and knowledge of complex problem-solving  
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  
    • Ability to develop clear, compelling and high quality storylines and presentations  
    • Demonstrated experience owning end-to-end large, complex projects to drive results  
    • Experience managing small multi-disciplinary teams to deliver successful outcomes  
    • Strong stakeholder skills and ability to act as strategic thought partner  
    • Retail and/or analytics experience preferred but not required
