Reporting to the Chief Transformation & Strategy Officer who is an inclusive, empowering and hands on leader who will support you and your career growth. 

Undergoing rapid growth, this company has strong investment and this role will work closely with the customer experience leadership team to ideate strategic growth, design, build and incubate initiatives.  

This opportunity will focus on new and emerging opportunities and this will include considerations such as e-commerce and pharmaceuticals and developing ideas and business case proposals to support an innovation pipeline of new product platforms and business models. 

As Sydney-based Head of Strategy & Operations, you will work closely with the customer experience leadership team to ensure that their key strategic goals are being successfully delivered. You will also lead their growth, design, and build some of their key strategy initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute growth strategies across the company’s portfolio.  
  • Define, develop, and implement strategic plans, innovation and business capability projects. 
  • Use your data-driven approach to evaluate new opportunities. 
  • Support the business development activities of the development team by conducting competitor and market intelligence analysis. 
  • Develop ideas and business case proposals supporting an innovation pipeline of new product platforms and business models.  
  • Support and build key partnerships for expansion and growth activities for the company. 

Background & Skills: 

  • 3-5 years of top-tier post-MBA consulting experience, ideally 4+ with experience in an operations role 
  • Proven track record of contributing to high-performing teams 
  • Demonstrated success in launching pilots and implementing operational initiatives at scale within an organization 
  • Adept at quantitative analytics, abstract reasoning, design concepts and enjoys using data to drive decisions 
  • Ability to work with and lead at all levels of the organization (from the clinic to the C-level) 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset to work in a fast-growing company that encourages innovation and new ways of tackling complex business problems 
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships to enhance the quality and profitability of service while maintaining a positive rapport 
  • Be able to travel approximately 10-15% of the time

    Day to day activities of a Melbourne-based Head of Strategy: 

    • You will be leading their team of strategists, providing coaching and guidance to all members of the team.  
    • You will also be responsible for contributing towards additional projects, including facilitating the acquisition of new clients.  
    • As a member of the leadership team, you will be expected to contribute to the wider operation and management of the strategy team. 
    • You will be a key factor in making prioritised recommendations that will flow through product roadmaps – and supporting execution where appropriate.

    Qualifications/Experiences: 

    • You will have experience in a top tier strategy consulting firm at Senior Manager or Principal level.  
    • You will have demonstrated success in developing growth strategies for clients that are based on in-depth knowledge of the client’s business environment, market, and resources. 
    • You will be passionate about growth strategy and demonstrate excellent business acumen. 
    • You’ve worked on/led projects where the goal was ambiguous, the strategy uncertain, and the outcome unclear.  
    • You’ve shown that you can embrace ambiguity and uncertainty to achieve outstanding results.  
    • You’re motivated to become a global expert in online marketplace mechanisms and operations, and you’ve demonstrated that you can work with others to ‘get stuff done’.

        • Advanced communication skills, with a focus on Executive level communications.  
        • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior management with the ability to create compelling analytical presentations, texts, and proposals. 
        • The successful candidate will be able to absorb and analyse a great deal of information, and then present compelling arguments in a clear, concise, and interesting way.  
        • In addition, this individual needs to be attentive to detail and have strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and be curious about new possibilities.  
        • Exceptional quantitative skills and financial understanding/ financial literacy and project management ability is a must.

Our client is looking for a Sydney-based Senior Strategy Manager / Head of Strategy.

          Working in the TMT sector and as a Sydney-based Senior Strategy Manager, you will report to a strong leader and this role will help to establish the strategy to grow their business through developing innovative new products and services specifically for their existing and new client base.  

          You will play a pivotal role in setting the company’s strategic direction of the business and the team. This will involve presenting weekly and monthly presentations to the top executives of the company by presenting the strategic plan and providing critical insights on broader strategic projects.  

          Key responsibilities for this role include:  

          • Lead a Strategy Analyst/Manager who will support you with growth strategy. 
          • Short term and immediate strategy planning. 
          • Long term growth strategy. 
          • Conduct market assessments and research to provide relevant insights and data.  
          • Understand the company’s internal dashboards and reporting capabilities and work with the Data and Insights team to scope data requests.  
          • Develop high-level assumptions for strategic initiatives, and then size them based on finance team input.  
          • Work with the finance team to build more structured business models to assess and make recommendations on strategic initiatives. 
          • Provide direction on key drivers and sensitivity analysis for key initiatives. 
          • Help synthesise key insights from research, data analysis and modelling into structured, high quality written presentations.  
          • Drive discussions on key broadband strategic issues with confidence and conviction. 

          Background & Skills:  

          • 7+ years relevant previous experience in Management Consulting or Corporate Strategy role 
          • Passionate about the evolving TMT landscape 
          • Strong Excel modelling and data analysis skills with experience developing business cases and/or conducting financial assessment 
          • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to simplify and tackle complex problems, synthesize findings from a variety of sources and present to stakeholders in a clearly articulated and concise presentation 
          • Strong written and oral communication and demonstrated experience preparing presentations for senior management 
          • Flexible and positive attitude with the ability to adapt to a constantly evolving competitive landscape and work well in a fast-paced environment  
          • Strong communication and interpersonal skills enabling you to liaise confidently and effectively at all levels both internally and externally

            The Sydney-based Portfolio Director would support strategic growth and drive improvements in portfolio of privately owned companies. You will be responsible for providing operational direction, including liaising between portfolio companies and their financial advisors, conducting due diligence on incoming and outgoing investments, and maintaining an active presence on company boards.
