Our client is an industry leader in the funds management sector and this is a great opportunity to join their small and high performing team.  They are looking to hire a Melbourne-based Strategy Analyst.

The team is responsible for developing their group strategy that supports the company’s financial goals as well as its growth initiatives.  

Work life balance is a key priority for the team and this company has one of the most generous annual leave allowances that I’ve seen.  

The Melbourne-based Strategy Analyst will work closely with the Strategy Manager and Head of Strategy as well as the ELT and Board. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Identify strategic implications such as external trends, research, and internal or external data to develop recommendations with supporting strategic rationale. 
  • Analyse data and identify trends to generate recommendations and support rationale through synthesising external insights and research. 
  • Deliver key areas of analysis that are aligned with the company’s global and domestic insights, information and trends.  
  • Support the strategic framework and translate global and domestic insights, information and trends into deep dive reviews and presentations to the Executive and Board is an essential part of this role. 
  • Supporting year-round business planning processes, developing reports and materials about Executive and Board strategy, and conducting strategy offsite visits. 
  • Other duties as requested by either the Strategy Manager or the Head of Strategy from time to time. 

Key Requirements required for the position: 

  • A minimum of 12 months experience in management consulting or an in house strategy role.  
  • Strong understanding of numeracy and data analysis, as well as strategic thinking and commercial acumen. 
  • Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen with experience in analysing strategic problems, and developing data driven insights 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills 
  • A demonstrated passion for data driven analysis and business strategy 
  • Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline are a pre-requisite, with relevant post graduate qualifications (eg MBA) highly regarded 
  • Understanding or experience in Financial Services would be advantageous

    As a Sydney-based Senior Strategy Analyst, you will play a vital role in setting the company’s strategic direction. This will involve supporting the development of the company’s strategic plan and providing critical insights on broader strategic projects. In addition, you will be required to provide research-based assessments and recommendations on broader strategic projects. 

    Key Responsibilities:  

    • Develop a immediate and short term strategy plans 
    • Develop longer term 3-5 year strategy plans and roadmaps 
    • Conduct market assessments and research to provide relevant insights and data.  
    • Determine which projects and propositions are the most promising, and help us future-proof the business. 
    • Understand the company’s internal dashboards and reporting capabilities and work with the Data and Insights team to scope data requests.  
    • Learn about some of the company’s proprietary trading tools. 
    • Develop high-level assumptions for strategic initiatives, and then size them based on finance team input.  

    Background & Experience:  

    • 2-5 years previous experience in management consulting or an inhouse strategy role.  
    • Passionate about the evolving TMT landscape 
    • Strong Excel modelling and data analysis skills with experience developing business cases and/or conducting financial assessment 
    • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to simplify and tackle complex problems, synthesize findings from a variety of sources and present to stakeholders in a clearly articulated and concise presentation 
    • Strong written and oral communication and demonstrated experience preparing presentations for senior management 
    • Flexible and positive attitude with the ability to adapt to a constantly evolving competitive landscape and work well in a fast-paced environment  
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills enabling you to liaise confidently and effectively at all levels both internally and externally

      We are excited to announce that one of our clients is embarking on a new chapter in its journey and as such is hiring a Brisbane-based Commercial Strategy Analyst.  

      Working with the Head of Strategy you will help to develop the broader commercial strategy and transformation roadmap and support the analysis of opportunities to quickly capture value in the business. 

      This position, Brisbane-based Commercial Strategy Analyst, will play a key role in supporting stakeholder management and decision making by working on selected deep dives into these opportunities. In addition, this position will work on special projects that are in collaboration with relevant Commercial functions and other teams within the company. 

      Key Responsibilities: 

      • Provide support to the Manager and Head of to develop growth strategies to help the company achieve their revenue ambitions. 
      • Lead and support the Manager and Head of Strategy in identifying and analysing opportunities across commercial functions. Actively support preparation for ELT/Board updates. 
      • Develop, manage and monitor relationships with internal stakeholders across Commercial Functions, as well as across the company.  
      • Collaborate closely with finance and revenue management teams to help ensure alignment of strategic objectives. 
      • Identify and scope commercial opportunities and lead the sizing of commercial benefits and investments. This will include supporting the workstream within special projects and selected deep dives for value acceleration capture.

      • Experience in preparing CEO/Board level presentation  
      • Experience operating with ambiguity 
      • Ability to learn a topic quickly and understand commercial drivers  
      • Ability to synthesis insights into a management level narrative to drive decision making  
      • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral  
      • Excellent stakeholder management skills  
      • Knowledge of strategy toolkit
