The Group Transformation Director in Melbourne is a critical role that bridges the gap between the Executive Team and the entire Transformation efforts of the business. Reporting directly to the Chief Transformation Officer, this role acts as an essential point of contact and leader for the Group Transformation team. This person serves to guide decision-making processes, ensuring all stakeholders receive timely updates on progress and results. This position requires strong leadership skills, close collaboration with the CTO and other senior executive stakeholders. Ultimately, the Group Transformation Director plays a pivotal role in driving successful step- change across the entire organization. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Responsibility for ensuring the company’s transformation strategy is up-to-date and imbedded. 
  • Communicate the vision, strategy and drive growth with an operational excellence mindset.  
  • Execute the Transformation plan and agenda across all markets, geographies and functions.  
  • Leading cross-functional teams in order to prioritise transformation initiatives. 
  • Orchestrate the overall Transformation process and managing resources, value, change and risk across the entire business. 
  • Develop and implement effective change management strategies that will help employees adopt new ways of working and embrace the transformation agenda.  
  • Effective communication and influencing to engage the executive team, board of directors and all other stakeholders within the business.  

Job qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. 
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in leading transformation initiatives. Retail/FMCG experience preferred but not a prerequisite.  
  • Must have strong Transformation toolkit and a proven track record of delivering results in an enterprise-wide corporate Transformation. 
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape. 
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to drive change and deliver results. 
  • Experience in developing and implementing business models, processes, and technologies that drive growth and operational excellence. 
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into insights and actionable recommendations. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Strong leadership and change management skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence and inspire others

      As a Sydney-based Director of Strategy in the Financial Services (FS) sector practice, you will be developing strategies that help your Banking, FinTech and Neo Banking clients grow and scale by driving Digital Transformation. In addition, you will be tasked with practice growth internally through attracting new clients, and recruitment and mentoring of a first-class team of strategy consultants.  

      You will be working alongside a team of top-tier experts to develop, deploy, and manage client project engagements. You will receive ongoing training and development so that you can keep up with the constantly changing technology and digital transformation landscape, as required. 

      As a leader in the FS strategy practice, you will have to combine strong problem solving and team leadership capabilities and become an expert in digital business transformation. You are eager to learn and expand your knowledge in this space and are already well-versed in all aspects of Financial Services. To excel in this role, you need great client management and communications skills. 

      As a Sydney-based Director of Strategy, your responsibilities include:  

      • Taking ambiguous and complex business problems and turning them into definitive solutions for clients 
      • Driving practice growth through business development with clients in the Financial Services sector 
      • Providing actionable recommendations to clients that will help their organisation achieve its goals 
      • Defining and implementing new digital strategies for clients 
      • Providing critical input to internal practice growth through recruitment and mentoring your team. 
      • Helping clients reach the best possible outcomes while minimizing business risk.  

      Qualifications for this role include the following:

      • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a Strategy business unit of a financial institution and/or Management Consulting Experience within a leading consulting firm 
      • Demonstrated a progressive career that has included promotion in a leading strategy consulting business where you have gained a well-rounded strategy toolkit 
      • Experience in digital strategy / transformation 
      • Experience leading client engagements in mainstream FS institutions and or FinTech’s & Neo Banks, with the responsibility of managing a team to drive strategic outcomes. 
      • Strong managerial level consulting skills and experience consulting to C-level clients in the Financial Services Industry. 
      • A “change agent” attitude, constantly pushing your clients to new opportunities, approaches, ideas, perspectives, etc. 
      • Cool under pressure and in unpredictable circumstances. Thrive in ambiguous environments, and in informal, loosely structured, and creative work environments.

          • 7+years’ experience in Strategy Development, Strategic Pricing, Commercial Excellence & Transformation, Revenue and Value Management in a multi-category business. 
          • 10+ years’ experience in advanced analytics within Consumer and B2B focused industries. 
          • Deep Leadership experience with a track record of coaching team members, developing high performance teams and achieving results. 
          • Experience presenting Insights succinctly to an executive level audience. 
          • Experience in predictive modelling, trend analysis, data mining and other quantitative techniques or having led people within this function. 
          • Demonstrated commercial acumen in the interpretation of data and development of fact-based recommendations that have led to measurable growth and bottom-line results.
