We have been exclusively engaged to find a preeminent, commercially minded strategy leader by this successful mid sized tech business, who is passionate about what they do and look to hire the best talent in the market to support its growth agenda. 

Reporting to the Commercial Director, as Head of Monetisation &Pricing Strategy in Melbourne/Sydney, your pivotal responsibility will involve crafting and implementing pricing tactics that resonate with value, elevate customer contentment, safeguard the marketplace’s longevity, sustain our competitive advantage, and propel revenue expansion. 

As the one in charge of setting prices for the products and meeting revenue goals, you will head a team of pricing experts and liaise with various departments to optimise pricing frameworks, offerings, and promotional activities. 

Your responsibilities include:  

  • Overseeing product pricing and achieving yield targets, you will supervise a team of pricing analysts and work collaboratively across departments to enhance pricing strategies, deals, and promotional campaigns. 
  • Setting up pricing governance protocols is vital for ensuring uniformity, transparency in pricing choices, and meeting auditing standards. 
  • Working closely with the strategy team to develop and implement pricing strategies across the company. 
  • Leading the team of strategists, providing coaching and guidance to all members of the team.  
  • Contributing towards additional projects, including facilitating the acquisition of new clients.  
  • Contributing to the wider operation and management of the strategy team. 
  • Prioritising recommendations that will flow through product roadmaps – and supporting execution where appropriate. 

Key Qualifications include: 

  • Ex brand name strategy management consulting experience would be highly regarded. 
  • Breadth of knowledge of pricing theories, principles, frameworks and approaches. 
  • Comfort with analytics, with experience in statistics, econometrics, data science, or data analytics. 
  • Substantial experience in strategic pricing, commercial, or related roles, including in a leadership position. 
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams. 
  • Commercial experience in B2B setting with ability to blend data-driven decision-making with pragmatic commercial judgement. 
  • Experience in a marketplace setting is a plus. 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. 
  • Customer-centric approach and strategic thinker. 
  • Results-oriented and focused on delivering value and meeting commercial objectives. 
  • Collaborative, with negotiation and communication skills to navigate different views among stakeholders.
