Would you like to work for a high profile strategy team that is delivering cutting edge solutions for their customers?  This client of ours is hiring for a Sydney-based Associate Director for Growth Strategy.

 The Associate Director, Future Growth is responsible for developing the company strategy, leading projects from inception to execution, and ensuring that key strategic priorities are met. This role is critical in order to grow the business and requires excellent planning skills as well as the ability to see the big picture.   

Key Responsibilities:  

  • The first strategic initiative this role will lead is about taking the strategy to plan and execution of the future growth avenue, ensuring coordination across streams and directly leading our channel strategy and model for the future.  
  • This role will also ensure the successful execution of these strategic initiatives (both on cost and revenue side) by working closely with Performance and Planning, Operations and Governance and the Commercial teams, who are responsible for tracking and providing visibility tracking of program costs and benefits.  
  • This position deals with highly ambiguous, uncertain and unchartered territory in effectively helping the business realise its strategic vision.  
  • The Associate Director – Strategy and Strategic Projects must be able to collaborate and challenge the leadership team on the formation and execution of the business strategy, with strong leadership, influence and negotiation skills to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes for all.  
  • The successful implementation of strategic initiatives and realisation of benefits are critical KPIs that need to be achieved, alongside strong employee experience. It is also expected that this role will lead, engage, mentor and encourage an open, diverse and inclusive culture always.  
  • You are responsible for structuring performance and managing cross functional teams to achieve significant P&L impact within the agreed time period. You are also successful in delivering strategic initiatives and benefits, taking projects from inception and strategy to execution. In addition, you may need to partner with business leaders and functional teams as required, to evaluate and resolve priority strategic issues. 

Background & Skills 

  • Min 8 years of professional experience in Strategy positions in leading company or 4 years in senior position at a leading consulting firm (McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Kearney, Oliver Wyman etc.) 
  • Regular and direct exposure to senior leadership teams 
  • Experience in Growth Strategy and “blank-sheet” strategy development 
  • Commercially savvy and ability to interpret and analyse sales data, identifying key trends and opportunities 
  • Ability to use insight & data to pull together a plan with recommended outcomes 
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills including the ability to lead, negotiate, influence and work collaboratively with others to make decisions 
  • Academical background from leading institution 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel (modelling) skills 
  • A self-starter/independent driver with an ability to adapt to a dynamic, ever-changing and ambiguous environment 
  •  Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and adapt easily to frequent change 
  • Strong people leadership, coaching and mentoring capability
